Free Tuition – A New Approach To Student Aid

The Vancouver Island Party (VIP) proposes free tuition for college and university students who have four years prior registry as students in Vancouver Island middle and high schools. The family income cut-off for this policy would be $90,000 or less.

The VIP notes that one of the first actions of the new NDP provincial government was to introduce this policy for students from foster homes. We applaud this action.

The VIP also notes that the Government of New Brunswick introduced this free tuition policy in 2016 for families of $60,000 or less. If NB, why not BC?

The Vancouver Island Party also supports incentives for VanIsle graduates to find jobs and pursue their careers on Vancouver Island.

This is a timely message with college and university student graduation this month.

Leader
The Vancouver Island Party
